If you're experiencing problems with your camera or microphone before or during a Demio webinar, work through the steps below in order.
Run a System Check to verify your devices are working correctly before the event starts.
Confirm the expected device is selected under the Audio or Video tab in your Event Room settings, or in the System Check.
Make sure Demio is allowed to access the device within your browser, and that the browser itself has system-level permission to access the device.
Check that the device is plugged in and not muted. Unplug it and plug it back in to reset the connection.
Clear your browser settings to refresh the connection from Demio's side.
If the issue persists, another app, browser extension, or plugin may be interfering. Close all other applications that might be using the device, then try running a test in an incognito/private browser window, which hides extensions and plugins.
Make sure you're using the latest version of a supported browser, and try testing in a different supported browser.
Run a third-party device test to check whether the issue is specific to Demio or happens on other platforms too. If the problem also shows up externally, try restarting your computer or testing with a different device.
If devices test fine externally but still fail in Demio, it may be a network issue. Run a WebRTC connectivity test — red marks next to TCP, UDP, or Relay connectivity point to a blocked connection that needs ports/IPs whitelisted.
If the problem continues after these steps, reach out to support and we'll help you troubleshoot further.
Good to know
Choppy audio or video right when you connect your devices is normal — this is the connection being established, and it typically clears up within a few seconds.
When unmuting your microphone to speak, wait about two seconds before talking so the stream has time to fully connect and the whole room can hear you.
Older or lower-quality webcams and microphones can limit your broadcast quality — upgrading equipment can noticeably improve audio and video.
